AP Classes Breakdown

Me and couple of my friends made a breakdown of what AP Class you should take and why. This does not cover all but will cover a good amount to give a good idea to you guys.
AP Calculus AB - This class is a course for one semester of College Calculus. If you are in a position where you have taken Pre-Calculus but knows that you are not the strongest at math, then go for it. This class is pretty slow paced. This is best for non-STEM majors.
AP Calculus BC - This class is a course worth two semesters of College Calculus. This class is basically Calc AB + 2 Units. If you are going to be a STEM major or is confident with your math skills, then this is best suited for you.
AP Statistics - This class is not very difficult, as the knowledge you really need in this class is up to Algebra 2. This class is calculator and writing/analysis heavy however, the concepts are simple and as long as you know the formulas and calculate basically probability, and write conclusions, this is a good choice. Also recommended for both non-STEM and STEM Majors.
AP U.S. Government and Politics - This class is about the history of the government structures of our country and court cases that shape our current politics. Although easy to self-study, you should be able to write an FRQ well and analyze important documents and court cases. This year's test had many mixed results, so don't think this class is SUPER easy. It's not the most difficult, but can be challenging.
AP Macroeconomics - If you have never taken a class related to economics, it may be a struggle in the beginning. However, once you learn about the basic fundamentals and principles of economics, it is not too bad. Macroeconomics is the study of the whole economic market, compared to individual stores and market of Microeconomics. You will learn about Supply and Demand and so much more. You will need to learn how to use and draw graphs and change the graphs given a different situations. It's not super difficult if you study, but the foreign exchange market (Forex market) might be the most challenging.
AP English Language and Composition - This class is basically ACT or SAT Grammar sections. If you are good at grammar and are solid at writing analytical essays, this could be your class. But remember that fire-ass sounding essays does not equal a 4 or a 5. You must follow the CollegeBoard's rubric.
AP Environmental Science - One of the easier classes to self-study and is about the ecology and health of our globe. It focuses about global climate change and factors, habitats, and so much more. If you're into environmental policies or climate change around the world, this is a class for you.
AP Psychology - This class can also be self studied. It's all term based and if you can memorize vocab very well and know how to apply them in a FRQ (on the AP Test), you will get a 4/5.
AP Computer Science A - This class is about Java Programming. A good class if interested in majoring in CS or related majors in college. If you have taken APCSP or have prior coding knowledge, you should take it. If not, but is interested, suggested to look on free tutorials on youtube. It is JAVA programming, not JS.
AP Japanese/Chinese Language and Culture - Not gonna lie if you're not fluent or study a lot you're gonna be in a big disadvantage compared to fluent people. Knowing how to write characters, read characters, speak properly, and use of correct grammar is key. This is difficult, but practice can definitely help.
AP Music Theory - If you have been playing an instrument for many years and know the note structures, scales, and other musical theory components, you should take this class.
AP US History - If you are interested in the history of our country, this is a class for you. However, there are many things covered in this class, many different periods of time. If you are a solid DBQ writer and are looking into major in History, this is a class for you. However, I heard this class is article and textbook reading heavy.
Tbh all classes can be self-studied but the best APs to self study up on the list are:
- AP Calculus AB (BC if taken AB prior)
- AP Statistics
- AP U.S. Government and Politics
- AP Environmental Science
- AP Psychology
- AP Japanese / Chinese Language and Culture (If fluent don't study lol)
There is more we have but for now this should be good. :)
PM if questions.

7 Steps For A Healthy Trading Experience

7 Steps For A Healthy Trading Experience
https://eu.excentral.com/blog-article/?articleId=33121
There are many ways to trade, but there are just a few ways to open a transaction correctly. And this is one way you wouldn’t want to miss. Buckle up for a blog full of trading insight and eye-opening tips, straight from the trading world. All traders, from the less all the way to the highly experienced ones should read this blog to advance their game.
Needless to say, if you’re relatively new to the world of trading, this is a blog post you should definitely read. It includes the steps you need to take to open a transaction, weighing in the facts and data you gather from trustworthy sources.
However, if you’re trading like most people are breathing, then this is a blog post you might also benefit from reading, from the fact that it will give you a chance to reassess the most basic steps of trading, from a knowledgeable point of view.
Read this if you want to upgrade your strategies, checking the news and what are some verified news-sources, following the economic releases calendars, all the way to ‘reading’ the charts.

Here’s what you’ll better do

  1. Make sure you find a piece of news on an asset you understand – you can choose pretty much everything, from your country’s currency, main commodities products, indices, famous shares or even cryptocurrencies – we've got over 120 such assets. Just make sure you understand its current trend and what might impact it in the coming future. Make sure you find verified news outlets like: Reuters, Bloomberg, Investing, Business Insider, Financial Times, Market Watch, Forex Factory etc.
  2. Check the chart (try adding some indicators) – the chart will tell you more about the trend of the asset up to the moment you’re checking it. If you’re a more analytical trader, you might get the whole picture and base your trades on the chart solely. If you’re good with indicators, try combining several, to double-check your assets.
  3. Check the Economic Calendar for any upcoming events that impact the asset’s trend – If the chart doesn’t quite paint the picture, try combining it with the economic calendar. As an exercise, try to see which events trigger what kind of movement. Although past events can’t be an indication of future trends, they help you practice and better understand an asset’s movements.
Keep in mind that these first three steps are interchangeable. You can even start backwards, or first from the Chart, as they serve as verification methods of one another. Experienced traders can even make sense of asset’s trends using just one of these steps. But you know what they say: practice makes perfect.

A simple analysis might not be enough

  1. Make sure you have enough margin to pursue the trades you’re planning – based on the leverage you’re using, you might hear that a handful of investors recommend using 20% of your available margin, leaving the rest as a safety net in case your scenario goes haywire. However, the truth is somewhere in the middle. You need to consider the volatility of the assets you’re trading with, the total margin available in your account as well as all the events taking place in the markets at that specific time when you’ll open the transaction.
  2. Prepare a solid Risk Management Technique – there’s no one-size-fits all strategy we can use when trading, and actively following our transactions seems to be the best solution we have. Probably only a good Risk Handling Technique can prevail, so make sure to research yours in depth.
  3. Analyse the right entry and exit strategies for a variety of scenarios. It’s not all about setting up stop loss and take profit. Consider the period you’re willing to hold the transaction open for, the events that might start influencing the trend, or whether you’re planning on changing the stop limits at all. For more information make sure to check out Michalis Webinars.

Don’t forget to invest in your knowledge and…

  1. Trade – based on what you expect to happen next in the markets, buy – if you anticipate the asset’s value to rise, or sell – if you think the asset’s value will drop.
If any of the above points give you a headache, make sure you follow our webinars, held by eXcentral’s Market Analyst, Michalis Efthymiou. And for more information make sure to ask your Account Manager to arrange a 1-on-1 with Michalis, it might surprise you how much he knows about investing.

Trade It, Adopt It

Trade It, Adopt It
A generation ago, Deng Xiaoping postulated to his great country – “To get rich is glorious”. No better quote can be used as a definitive description of what the modern world is all about – the modern world that revolves around technologies. Taking inspiration from Deng Xiaoping’s words, and deriving from their essence, it is possible to morph his postulate into the technological realm and derive something of the like: “To develop is glorious”. However, if taken one step further and adapted even further to what modern users have come to expect from technologies, the semantics gives us a more accurate phrase – “To develop something that generates profit is glorious”.
There has never been a time in human history when trade did not occupy the determining role in human interactions and political ventures. The facilitation of trading environments for native traders was the key goal of politics, military campaigns and diplomatic negotiations. Nothing has changed since then, the tools have merely evolved to facilitate trade.
Digitizing Trade
The digital asset industry is the latest iteration of trading that has stepped over the restrictive entry thresholds that bar Wall Street trading houses from the 99% of humanity. Merely 1% of the world’s population has access and the means to trading traditional assets, such as commodities, futures, stocks, bonds, currencies and other tradable assets. But that state of affairs has rather sickened the remaining 99% who have access to online instruments and do not have the exuberant monetary reserves needed to access traditional trading houses and platforms.
This is where cryptocurrencies came in around 2013 as an affordable, highly volatile accessible, transparently traded and most importantly profitable asset that has been placed in direct opposition to traditional tradable assets. Since 2013, over 40 million people around the world have confessed to having opened at least one cryptocurrency wallet. People are starting to understand that the cryptocurrency industry is developing fast, and it is the market that can be construed as the next generation of profit-generating platforms.
It’s All About The Benefits
A profitable market is not one that is stable, but one that is highly volatile, as it is the price changes that generate income for holders of assets slated for trading. However, to be able to generate any kind of profit, it is not enough to just hold a certain amount of tradable assets in a wallet, but to have access to a convenient, user-friendly, transparent, high speed and versatile platform that would facilitate trade of said tradable assets and open gateways between sellers and buyers.
Forex, TradingView and other platforms have existed as the mainstays of trading on conventional markets for years, but now the time has come for a new generation of digital asset trading platforms capable of catering to the needs of cryptocurrency traders.
MoonBot is the blockchain platform for cryptocurrency trading that has reached and even exceeded the expectations of traders with its product offering. MoonTrader is a unique combination of advanced tools, such as trading bots and traditional analytical instruments that allows for extremely fast order execution and offers a variety of charts that allow users to have a better understanding of the market. It is the comprehensive approach to trade automation and the market dynamics analysis that makes the MoonTrader terminal the most comprehensive, wholesome, and advanced cryptocurrency trading platform on the market.
Never Stopping
The heart of MoonTrader is its intuitive and advanced trading dashboard that grants users access to the instruments necessary for programming trading bots to suit any trading strategy and market behavior. By relying on the array of analysis instruments available and having a full view of market volatility and dynamics, users of MoonTrader can tailor their trading strategies with a variety of listed cryptocurrencies and have insight into market movements on the basis of chart indicators.
The MoonTrader development team is fully vested in the process of perfecting their product, as the project ICO has been successfully concluded and more than enough funds were raised to dedicate all of the team’s attention to the development of a new product. The logical next step for the advancement of MoonTrader is the launch of a strong marketing campaign that would prepare the project’s audience for the release of the product that is scheduled for Q1 of 2020.
Fancy words would be fine in an abstract world, but MoonTrader is all about deeds. The product the team is offering is real and operational, generating profits for thousands of traders relying on the platform. The Alpha version of the product is up and running. Full integration and interaction with a host of exchanges has been conducted and new tools are being developed and implemented by the team on a daily basis. All of the necessary functionality that would cover the needs of future customers has already been included in the dashboard of MoonTrader with more advanced tools based on cutting-edge technologies already in the works.
Among the newest introductions to the MoonTrader trading terminal are instruments that allow charting the price graph of a selected asset, other tools that allow charting the order book on the same screen with the trading viewport and others. Simultaneous displaying of the price history with the trading viewport grants users the possibility of comparing prices in real time and determining profitable entry and exit points for various cryptocurrencies listed on the platform.
The development team is also developing the code that would allow users to place buy and sell orders directly on the exchange, bypassing the need to wait extra milliseconds for transactions to pass, thus saving valuable time that often means the difference between gain and loss in trading.
It Is Time
When it comes to convenience and transaction speeds, cryptocurrencies beat any other asset by a mile. But when it comes to trading them, MoonTrader beats any other platform by a long shot with its transaction processing speeds, automation and arrays of analytical instruments. Don’t lag on profits, just join MoonTrader.

That’s Fast! High-Frequency and Algorithmic TradingThink fast: you’ve probably heard of high-frequency trading or algorithmic trading. But do you know what it is, or what it “looks” like? High-frequency trading (or HFT) is well-established in today’s markets—here to stay. Yet, HFT isn’t especially well understood, and it’s often a source of controversy.Generally speaking, it does carry some baggage, and there are valid reasons for that. But HFT and algorithmic (“algo”) trading often get get a bum rap, many market professionals say, and that high-speed algorithms do benefit markets and individual investors in key ways. One primary source of confusion: there is not yet a widely accepted definition, says Ovidio Montemayor, managing director of trading operations and order routing at TD Ameritrade. In many ways, high-frequency trading is just one of many examples of the new, digitally driven “speed of business,” he adds—rapid advancements in computing power and data analytics in recent year..... Top Forex Trading tips and Strategies- 2018

Forex trading is completely bounded by the economy of the currency pair. Forex trading is not a kind of business where you can take spontaneous decisions to run your business. It needs a thoughtful and strategic process with the emotional discipline to make any move in Forex trading. It is always said that a Forex trader must strive to develop his/her own trading strategy or try a strategy that has proven itself in past. Best Forex trading tips and strategies for 2018 can develop after multifaceted analysis of currency pairs and economy news. Here are some forex currency trading tips that will work in 2018:
1. Trading is an Art, not a Rocket Science:
You must remember that trading is an art, not a rocket science. No one can assure you for 100% accurate movement of any currency. Therefore, no rule in trading is ever absolute. You have to learn Art of trading. How the market reacts to the economic news? And how technical indicators work with those data?
2. Emotional Discipline:
Everyone knows about emotional discipline, but no one controls their emotions while trading which becomes a reason for the loss of trading. Emotional discipline keeps you on the track of successful trader. If you are trading with a strategic process and don’t have the emotional discipline you can lose your money on trading and we suggest you stop wasting time in trading. You can do more interesting in your life.
3. Don’t Get Greedy:
Forex trading is highly fluctuating trading system. You are making a good profit 1 min ago and next min you are having a loss. If you’re in profit and you are making good money with respect to your investment. Then don’t get greedy into making more profit. Just close the trade and have fun with your profit.
4. Risk Management:
Most of the people trade without risk management and wipe out their account. If you want to be a successful trader don’t forget to put proper risk to management in your trades. Trading is a kind of business if you are not able to lose money that you are investing. Please don’t put any trade in stocks, currency market.
5. RSI (Relative Strength Index) Indicator:
As you know it is a momentum indicator. It is used to understand the movement of the market. It also helps us to learn the trend of the market in particular time frame. But why we are suggesting to others to use in your toolkit. We know that market is run by investors and all investors need something to predict short terms and long-term movement of the market to make a good amount of profit. That’s why they use tools used by a majority of traders and RSI is one of the tools which is used by the majority.
6. ATR (Average True Range):
Most of the traders lose money in Forex trading not because they are trading against the trend, they lose money because they don’t what is stop loss and take profit they have to put while trading and ATR will help you to use a proper stop loss on your all trade so you can increase the number of profitable trade in your portfolio.
7. Stochastic Oscillator
Every trader must keep this tool in his/her toolkit. This tool will let you know about get-in and get-out price of your trade. If you are following the signals provided by this tool, you may lose most of your trades with good profit. It shows the overbought and oversold price of any currency, commodity, and stock. This range – from 0 to 100 – will remain constant, no matter how quickly or slowly a security advances or declines. Considering the most traditional settings for the oscillator, 20 are typically considered the oversold threshold and 80 are considered the overbought threshold. However, the levels are adjustable to fit security characteristics and analytical needs. Readings above 80 indicate a security is trading near the top of its high-low range; readings below 20 indicate the security is trading near the bottom of its high-low range.
8. Simple Moving Average:
The thing to remember about SMA is it helps you to determine the upcoming trend. It helps you to know upcoming the bullish trend and bearish trends in your currency trading.
Two popular trading patterns that use simple moving averages include the death cross and a golden cross. A death cross occurs when the 50-day simple moving average crosses below the 200-day moving average. This is considered a bearish signal that further losses are in store. The golden cross occurs when a short-term moving average breaks above a long-term moving average. Reinforced by high trading volumes, this can signal further gains are in store.
9. A risk to Reward Ratio:
Before entering every trade, you must know your pain threshold. You need to figure out what the worst-case scenario is and place your stop based on a monetary or technical level. Every trade, no matter how certain you are of its outcome, is an educated guess. Nothing is certain in trading. Reward, on the other hand, is unknown. When a currency moves, the move can be huge or small. Always trade in 1:2 risks to reward ratio. So if you lose two trade you, your one profit trade can recover your loss and put you in no loss- no profit situation.
10. Never Risk more than 5\% of your investment:
If you are a trader with the low budget in rang $100-$1000. Never put more than %5 of your total amount of investment. And if you have budget more than $1000 than please don’t get greedy and don’t put more than 2% on risk.
If you remember this rules and learn to use above mention tools properly. Definitely, you can make a good amount of money from your trades, without wiping out your account. Trading is subject to market risk. You can lose all money, so please trade safely and don’t get emotional.

Log of AMA with coindash - @alon (Alon) CEO from CoinDash.io

boldninja Let us all give a warm welcome to @alon (Alon) CEO from CoinDash.io. AMA can begin, give him some time to catch on with questions and answers.
bangomatic :clapping:
alon Hi Everyone!
jakethepanda :clapping:
tranzer hi @alon
alon Great to be here!
arigard All this BTC shit is just a storm in a teacup anyway
jakethepanda Hey @alon
dr10 Welcome
tranzer @alon how does coindash compare to Iconomi and their user-based funds you'll be able to invest / copy?
jakethepanda On top of that question, include Melonport.
5eb6o Sorry as I said I am drunk.. and I welcome everyone.. but why coindash? I mean isn't it pretty close to dash coin... or I am missing something... why not something unique
joelafc LOL
darius sup alon
welcome to the thunderdome
alon Hi, i think Melonport and ICONOMI are more of an investment instrument.. they provide a tool for people to invest in crypto assets. We are more focused on answering what peopel whould invest in and when. For that end we also intend to integrate with both of them because there is a good chance they will become a good investment instrument
tranzer are there any partnership plans already in the making with them?
dr10 So its more like a Follow Trader platform, where you do the moves that successful traders do?
alon @tranzer i can't comment on that for the next 24H :slightly_smiling_face:
ben123 Got it
alon @dr10 social trading is a great means for reducing friction for inexperienced and new traders, making crytpo trading more accessible
jakethepanda Can you briefly explain how the coin fits in to the platform?
darius ^ this
dr10 Is Coindash its own blockchain or based ontop of another?
boldninja Where do CoinDash tokens come in play? I mean where will they play a role, like paying someone subscription for private portfolio c/p or tipping or something different?
jake beat me to it
ben123 I think that's what I read about them
alon @jakethepanda we see it as fuel for using various features on the platform. If you follow someone and copy his investments you will pay a fee for that ... that fee is payed with the CDT token
@dr10 we connect to the various blockchains/ exchanges
ben123 How will you be able to compete against enigma? It's similar to your concept and they seem very promising.
tranzer When will the copy and paste functionality be introduced into your dashboard, product?
dr10 so you are your own blockchain? didnt get that
alon @tranzer we are expected to release copy-ICO towards the end of the year... until then we will work hard on the dashboard and other investor exploration (we will be rolling versions fairly fast once every 2-3 weeks)
@dr10 we are not
darius So the platform need it’s own token to tip someone? Sounds like you coulda built an app without it’s own token tbh.
its*
tranzer Are you in the talks with any of the exchange yet? Probably we'll see you on Bittrex correct?
alon not tip but reward top investors who get followed.. also the followers get financial benefit from that so its natural they will pay for it
@tranzer yes we in talks with some exchanges
jakethepanda The beta currently only allows for a link to an ETH address. Will be able to link say an ARK address, eventually?
darius Do you mean top investors are rewarded by the platform with your token? How would that work, is that based off how long they hold a top position?
alon @jakethepanda we already integrated various blockcahins and exchanges.. we will start rolling them soon
numba1enigma How do risk adjusted returns fitinto all this
alon @darius they are rewarded by the people following them as fees.
@numba1enigma that an important indicator to understand how your portfolio performs against the market. This will roll out soon alongside other indicators
darius Oh so this is taking private paid advise discords/slacks and putting them all on a platform.
Clever
numba1enigma Tell me what a sharp ratio is?
alon @darius imagine you can see the performances of the bet traders in the space, follow them and copy their investments... this is what social trading is
numba1enigma The following and payment mechanism in terms of sharp ratios
Roi of two managera without sharp ratio considerations is worthless
tranzer There is bonus in first week - 30% how will that be awarded will first week deposits count for example if you invest 1 ETH count as 1.3 ETH?
jakethepanda On top of @numba1enigma question, what kind of risk analytics will be on the platform?
alon first day is 30%... you will get immediatley 30% additional tokens
numba1enigma Byw the way iconomi and co foundit didn't know what a sharp ratio was until two months ago
alon @numba1enigma i'm not sure i follow... various indicators effect the performance and risk level of the investors. Risk adjusted returns could very much reflect how truly profitable that investor is and lets you decide how much risk you want to take by following him
darius Who are your competitors? I know there’s a platform that does this but I can’t think of their name for the life of me
alon @darius you probably are talking about eToro maybe?
numba1enigma You should take a look at markov analytic tools to bucket mutual fund returnes to rank performance
It would be helpful to you
ben123 Enigma ico is coming out in August and they seem to be a competitor also.
tranzer How many users are there already using your platform currently? How much joining lately on daily base?
jakethepanda How does fiat integration figure into the platform? Trading directly from the platform will be available?
alon @tranzer we opened the beta 11 days ago. Now we have 2.5K users with 200-250 added daily
@jakethepanda thats something we are interested in but will come in a later change. It fits very well in our mission to make crypto trading more accessible to the public
darius https://1broker.com/?c=en/home 1broker.com 1Broker.com - Bitcoin Forex & CFD Trading 1Broker connects Bitcoin with global markets. Trade forex, stocks, commodities, indices and cryptocurrencies on our minimalist platform.
That’s the one i saw a couple twitter guys say they were on
https://1broker.com/?c=en/content/copy-trader 1broker.com Copy Trader - Social Trading - 1Broker (2kB)
ben123 Seems interesting
jakethepanda I noticed that RSk is one of your partners. Will CDT also be on Rootstock?
alon We did a POC integration with RSK with the CoinDash platform a few months ago... more will be announced in the coming month (very interesting stuff)
jakethepanda Interesting
tranzer alon would you consider something like that with Ark as well? Seems like a nice fit.
alon @tranzer definitely!
jakethepanda I noticed there isn't anyone on the team with a quant finance background. Who is developing the risk/performance analytics?
alon you should learn more about Adam and Ram.. both with a lot of experience in finance (Adam opened eToro's offices in Shanghai). Most the team has years of experience in crypto trading as well
tranzer will you be able to leverage coindash coins against some investors and use other coins to trade if that makes sense?
jakethepanda Since many people in crypto are new to trading and investing will there be tutorials and investment education tools? Based on questions noobs ask they need this. (edited)
jarunik I still don't really get how adding the coin to the mix brings any advantage compared to other social trading platforms. What do I miss?
alon yes there will be tutorials and mostly beautifully made UX/ UI
tranzer how are tokens going to be saved? Will this be centralized? I mean in order to copy someone you'll need to move coins within platform no?
alon the CoinDash Token enable us to fund our activity and create an amazing community around the product who have a huge incentive to help (in our case the investors are also the end users). We tie the token to the platform so its success is also the success of the token.
so for the copy-ICO feature foe example we use smart contracts
alon uploaded and commented on this image: Pasted image at 2017_07_14 11_22 AM.png 1 Comment
BTW :slightly_smiling_face:
mike Nice looking announcement
jarunik You could just do that with a normal crowdfunding ... what incentives give the coins exactly ? (edited)
jakethepanda Will there be a mobile app?
alon yes
tranzer Where do you get current prices from CMC or have your own service?
jakethepanda The beta app doesn't seem very social. How will the future version of the app change to be more of a social platform? (edited)
alon from CryptoCompare curently
next step will be the ability to discover other investors and follow them
darius @jarunik This way they don’t have to go through VC’s to raise a $12 MM seed fund. Use the hype of ICO’s to raise it instead because people want to profit from their coin.
alon the dashboard is the data layer on top of which the social feature will come
tranzer so if 12m is raised in first day its over no additional time and some other weird rules like we have seen with few recent icos?
jakethepanda Can you discuss any of the partnerships on the web page? Antshares or Wings?
One concern I have is that whitelisted addresses are going to buy up the entire offering. Do you have any mechanisms in place to avoid this?
alon Wings we did the forecasting and used some of their tech. AntShares, Tony the CEO invested and is our advisor
jakethepanda Thanks
alon i don't think they will buy it all... its a way for us to say thank you to the people who supported us, its not a long list. 250 people list
jakethepanda You would be surprised how much money is floating around crypto. It only takes one or two whales in the 250.
darius lol
jakethepanda I can think of 10 people in crypto that can blow a big dent in that cap.
Just saying
alkar Can my profile be private if ever I don't want to share my portfolio
alon i am too but most of those people gave us huge help the past year... people who were our first social media users.. beta testers stuff like that
@alkar yes, it can be totally private
darius That’s promising
can you answer @tranzer’s question “so if 12m is raised in first day its over no additional time and some other weird rules like we have seen with few recent icos?”
alon no weird stuff... very simple ICO :slightly_smiling_face:
guys my phone might die any second so if i'm cut off its ebecause of that
tranzer that is good to hear, didn't like how some were handling recent icos, extending time, adding some last minute changes, ...
jakethepanda @alon The project looks amazing. I'm out of questions for now. I will get you in your slack if I think of more.
boldninja Any last questions for @alon as his battery might die out?
jarunik Do you have a battery bank?
jakethepanda I think it died
boldninja Can you sell battery bank energy back into the network?
alon No dead yet ;)
jakethepanda One more question. Is that Warren Buffet on your web page?
On the product page.
alon Ahah might be a caricature(my fav investor)
jakethepanda Haha
Everyone can join coindash slack https://www.coindash.io/slack/
boldninja OK I think no more questions are coming - I'd like to thank alon for taking his time to do this AMA and I wish him a good and successful launch of ICO and product later on. Hope we'll be able to cooperate further down the line. You are always welcomed here at Ark.
darius Thank you! Good luck
jakethepanda Thanks @alon
tranzer thank you for answering my questions @alon - good luck!
alon Thank you guys! Hope to see you as users of our platform

Craigslist Advertising and General Advertising Methods

An advertisement can be defined as an announcement or a notice in a public domain which is used to promote an event, product or service. Advertisements can be classified as either paid or non-paid advertisement depending on the main channel of communication. Some of the most common channel of communication includes telephone, radio, print, internet, direct mail and television just to mention a few.
An advert is an integral part of any business activity. They are mainly designed to inform and motivate the target audience with the main objective being to change the buying behavior of the targeted audience. Normally, the ads’ main objective is to persuade the buyer to take an action which is desired by the advertiser. For instance, a forex broker promoting a particular forex platform; will expect that people who read or come across their adverts will most definitely open a trading account with their company.
The adverts get to people through a number of communication media such as:
Newspapers
This is one of the most common media which is used by quite a number of businesses to reach out to their targeted customers. Ideally, almost 50% of an entire newspaper is made of various kinds of advertisements. A very noticeable trend with newspapers is that local newspapers will tend to have advertisements of local companies and businesses while international newspapers blend both local and international adverts.
Newspaper production companies sell ad spaces. In most cases, the price of the advert will be determined by the amount of space it occupies. For example, an advert which covers an area of about 10 cm2 could go for about $100 while that which covers an area of about 20 cm2 could go for $250. There are so many factors which determine the price of an advert. A good example is the page. Adverts on the front page of a newspaper are likely to be more expensive that those on the inner pages of the newspaper. Newspapers have classified ads too which appear in a separate section of the newspapers. They are very brief. A good example is a list of homes.
Closely related to newspapers are the magazines. This is another common means of advertising. One good thing about magazines is that they can be kept for a very long time and adverts have better print quality. Most magazines are read by people who have more time and they are mostly printed by a group of people. For instance, a magazine which has specialized in computers will mainly have those adverts related to the computing industry. Since the explosion of the internet newspapers have quickly fallen to the likes of Oddle, Craigslist and Backpage for online classified ads and Craigslist Posters!
Direct mail advertising
This is another common advertising mechanism. In the U.S. alone, businesses spend over $50 billion every year on direct mail adverts. This type of adverts encompasses the use of brochures, letters, leaflets and catalogues. In most cases, the mail-order companies do profit from this form advertising. It is a very expensive way of reaching out to more customers, though it is also a sure way of getting the right audience. Its success will entirely depend on the strategies which the advertiser has put in place. Some companies offer scraping emails and direct leads via Craigslist Posting and mass mail centers!
Radio and television adverts
This is yet another commonly used media for advertisements. When it comes to radio and television advertisements; there is one major factor to consider- the geographical location. There are local radio and television networks. Local radio and television networks are suitable for local businesses and companies while the international radio and television networks are suitable for international businesses and companies.
Like in the case of newspapers and magazines; the amount of money one pays per advert will depend on very many factors. A very common factor is the time frame within which the advert will be on air. For instance, an ad which last for about 30 seconds could cost $1000 while that which last for 20 seconds could last for about $800. As a rule, only go for those radio and television networks, which are popular since this is the only way the advert can reach a larger audience. In most cases, there are those shows which are popular among most listeners and viewers. Targeting such shows could be a better way to reach a larger audience too.
Outdoor signs
This another way of advertising a business. Outdoor signs when carefully designed, it can catch the attention of bypasses. You should put your outdoor signs where there is a possibility of high traffic. It is important that it contains succinct information. Some of the most common types of outdoor signs include billboards, posters and electronic displays. There are companies which own some of this equipment. For instance, there are quite a number of companies which own billboards. You can rent some of them.
Internet advertising
This is one of the most common type of advertisement today. As compared to the other forms of advertisements; internet advertisements are affordable and convenient. There are quite a number of directories where you can submit free ads. One such example is the Craigslist website. It is one of the most popular advertising platforms in the United States of America. You can also opt for the paid online adverts. Sites such as Craigslist Posting Service use the power of Craigslist or Backpage to market your company across a huge spectrum of viewers.
The development of various social media platforms has really transformed how people go about online advertisement. In the recent past, a number of website owners have done all that it takes to ensure that their sites rank higher on the search engines. Some go as far as embracing the black hat SEO techniques which are very dangerous for such websites do not maintain their high ranks on the search engines for long.
Social media has become an integral part of internet marketing. It is only through social media that the company owner gets an opportunity to interact with the customers. Social media analytics are very essential too when it comes to formulating better strategies. At times, it becomes really difficult to decide on the type of advertising strategy to adopt. It is important that you establish your targeted audience and the total cost of the entire process. Any business or company without a better marketing strategy may find it difficult to compete favorably in a highly competitive market. A good company should have a sales and marketing team which can conduct the feasibility study on any advertising strategy before its implementation.

Questions Answers
I have $500, I'm also a web developer with all the skills required to do this. I still don't see how you can make money off them? Would the plan be to buy up 1 to start, customise it maybe give it a refresh, fiddle with the SEO then leave it for a month and try to see returns of the $500? Or would it be considerably less? Would the ROI be $500 over 3 months? Whats your usual ROI? For the sites I sell on Flippa (quality, aged, established traffic/earnings) You can expect to buy the site for 30x monthly earnings.
How Do you buy a website that has already got an owner? Is there a website market? Do you approach them? You can email them and offer to buy there website.
Thanks for the fast reply, so the ROI is fairly low... I don't see how you can make money this way without somehow getting 30x more traffic to offset the bad earnings. What's the usual strategy when you buy one of these things? Tweak the ad placement/units, mess around with layouts, tweak SEO.
A 2.5 year return on investment isn't bad at all.
I am not sure why you got downvoted, but I think this will be interesting! If I were to get into something like this, how would I start? Thanks If you have $500-$1000 to jump in with, I'd suggest buying some site so that you throw yourself into the deep end. Start looking through sites at Flippa.com. Since they are established websites for sale, they will be disclosing EVERYTHING. Earnings, traffic, how they get the traffic, etc. These are great examples to get you in the mindset of a web entrepreneur.
I've visited Flippa many times, most of the sites that claim to be making money with the classic "I'm focusing on other projects which is why I want to sell" seem like complete BS to me. Aren't the only people making money the guys selling the sites? Not true at all. I actually sold off my inventory of 40+ sites because I'm literally too busy with other projects. The people who bought my websites are now enjoying the cash-flow that I used to have.
Also, there's pretty much no such thing as a "Set/Forget" website that makes you money. Everything needs some level of maintenance, and every site has the potential to stop making money overnight if google changes it's logarithm.
I'm not very familiar with all of this but it does look interesting. Can you break down what exactly it is you're doing? How are you earning money from this? So you buy up websites, place ads on the sites, and get money from the traffic? Am I getting this right? Spot on!
I looked briefly at one of your links and you said that you work around 40-50 hours a week. My hours fluctuate considerably. Some weeks are 10, some weeks are 50.
Is this something I could do on my spare time if I just wanted a little supplemental income? Can I just do 1-3 websites and monitor them occasionally? Is it a situation where unless you spend a lot of time and money on it, you won't see results? I started my business part time while I was a full-time student with another part-time job. You can easily start up with 10 hours a week. Just depends on how big you want to go with it.
Will you be my dad? I'm probably the same age as you but I think we can make it work. That depends. How hot is your mom? And do I get to have sex with her?
Another internet marketer here - congrats on your success bro. :) I never mess around with search or anything SEO related because I feel like it's too unreliable to rely on Google's (constantly changing) SEO algorithm. Just last month, thousands of people lost their entire income through that BMR debacle. Do you think you'll be able to keep up your income forever? SEO can be unreliable if you are trying to cheat the system. I pretty much follow Google's golden rule of creating quality content for the user, and they have had my back so far with every update.
Can I have $200? What are you going to do to earn it?
Do you have a background in graphic/web design? What niches did you find that pay the best and what the worst? How much traffic do you get a month? How do you market the site and generate traffic? SEO, social media, PPC, etc? Approximately how many hours do you put into the site a week and how long has the site been around? Do you need any additional help? If so would you be open to a possible partnership? No, I actually studied Construction Management in college. - Best paying is like forex, mortgages, foreclosures, mesothilioma (sp?) etc. Worst are education, kids stuff, etc. But it doesn't matter what the niche is, you can still make money in any. And the higher-paying niches have MUCH more competition. - I get over a million visits a month. - SEO, Social Media, no PPC. The sites I buy, I do no marketing since they are already getting traffic. - My main site has been around 6 years. I probably put 10-30 hours a week into it. - Not interested in partnerships. I've got a few employees but don't need anymore.
I own loser.com ...there must be a way to monitize that. Any thoughts? Probably sell it. I'm sure someone will pay a small fortune for it..
I make around $450-$500 a month off two sports forums. Forums are better to get more user generated content. It's usually lower quality, but you get it for free. Forums are also typically harder to monetize because forum browsers know not to click on the adsense units.
Are forums or blogs better for adsense earning? Should I concentrate on bringing in more posters to the forum, or more readers to the blog? Blogs can be tough because you have to do ALL the writing, however you can have higher quality content and probably more clicks since blog readers aren't quite as internet savvy as the interactive forum users.
Fuck dude, did I read that right? One hundred thousand pages of unique content? How much content constitutes a page, on average? Are we talking several hundred word articles? I can hardly think of any sites that approach that size, except social networking sites or forums. Did you create fmylife.com or something? Reddit probably has several million pages of content. Many of the pages are forum threads. Not all the highest quality content.
If I were to buy a site from flippa, for example one of yours (to make things easy), what happens after I 'win' the bid? I get the domainname, the site, the hosting? Do I just need to replace your adsense-ID (and/or others) with mine, or do I have to place them manually? Exactly. You can just replace the adsense ID with yours. You'll have to get your own hosting account, but that is relatively easy. I don't currently have any sites for sale though.
Be sure to look through Flippa for a while to get a feel for what is out there. There's a lot of junk, so it might take a while to find a diamond in the rough.
I'm kinda hesitant about buying one in the first place, I kinda read these horror stories about G banning these sites after the transfer was complete. Just make sure you aren't buying some crappy site. Look for history of traffic/earnings.
How can you tell if they post legit traffic and earnings information? They could pad their stats a lot or a little, or the info could be legit -- but inflated because the owner buys traffic through Adwords, etc. You can ask for access to their Google Analytics account. You can't fake that.
Is that what you usually do when buying a site? Can you describe your due diligence when purchasing? I researched site flipping, domaining, affiliate marketing etc etc ad nauseum a few years ago, but I didn't want to just throw my money away. There's a lot of devil in the details. Also, use SEMRush.com, Quantcast.com, Compete.com, Alexa.com to verify that their site actually gets traffic.
Would you mind to give detailed practical tips to earn a 10th of what you earn? I understand the whole process might be complex, but I am sure there are certain tricks or considerations you could share. Finding a nice niche is the main thing as it appear... What cms do you use? -Where do you host your websites? vps, dedicated server? -Do you consider it "easy" to make a couple hundred a month? I am a computer science student, and I feel comfortable with administering servers, cms and programming. I've been thinking for a long time to start some useful website that could bring me some earnings, and I have a couple of ideas. But when I search for something like what I want to create, it seems everything is already invented, and I am late. One of my "brightest" idea, was to copy the concept of some rather simple foreign website which I liked and create the "spanish" version. What kind of website do you recommend? (forum, social website, a kind of wiki) I prefer Wordpress for sites where I'm writing the content. - You can use any host. If you aren't a high traffic site, then anything will do. - It really depends how you spend your time. - Forums are easy to set up, and once you have a userbase established, they typically grow over time. You don't have to do all the content for forums as well.
People actually click the advertisements on websites? What the hell..... Seriously! Just watch some internet newb surf the net. Literally ask them to google something, and stand behind them silently as they try to figure it out.
What's the advantage to doing this rather than say, buying domains that are typos of other major sites and putting a shit load of ads on them? You aren't really creating any value in the internet by doing that.
My Adsense account has been disabled due to "false clicks" or however they put it. I never clicked on ads myself, and asked for proof, but they have never responded nor have they ever reinstated my account. Have you ever had this issue, and if so, how did you solve it? Create a corporation, get an EIN and use that to sign up again. Or sign up as a friend/relative.
Where do you find outsourcers to write content for your lessor properties? Do you do any SEO at all to your sites or just hope for the best by having great content? Are you a BHW regular at all? I find contractors through ODesk. Some are crap, but sometimes you do find a diamond in the rough. I also don't do much content creation at all.
I do basic SEO things, but other than that I hope for the best with great content.
Don't know what BHW is.
How do you feel about flash game portals? I've owned one for a few years, only spent 2 days making it, and haven't advertised it since. It's only making $5-10 a month, but I've been thinking about upgrading it lately and advertising again. Worth it? Tips? Don't have much experience, but I know that flash games portals typically have low-quality traffic. Unless you are seeing huge traffic numbers, the traffic probably isn't worth a terrible amount.
Did you buy any cool "toys" with your earnings? 2000 BMW M5.
And the rest just sex toys.
I know the best way of getting into it is to jump head first, but what all is required for the maintenance? I'm sorry i'm totally ignorant to how this works but is it programming (more so what language i think it would be html?)? Or do you just alter the info of the website. I've answered this several other places. I'll probably add an FAQ to the body of the post.
Do people ever buy specialty retail sites on Flippa? Or would they only be interested on autonomous ones (drop shipping, etc)? What is the value rate on such sites? All types of sites are sold on flippa. No idea what the value rate is for those.
Can a brotha get a loan? Try prosper.com or lendingclub.com if you are seriously interested in getting a hard money personal loan.
Did you just make this to piss off $500 a month guy? Hahaha, yes, that is what inspired me to do this today. Although I'm not making it up.
How to best estimate what to pay for a website? I found some abandoned websites that I would like to buy, both without analytics and without adsense, but with great content. How to decide what to offer the current owner? Use Alexa.com, SEMRush.com, compete.com, quantcast.com, etc. to estimate traffic then go from there.
So do you just sit at home and make a shit ton of money? please teach me? It is my full time job. Read this thread - there's a lot of info I and others have been sharing.
What is adsense? Google "Adsense"
I apologize if someone has asked this already, but how many unique visitors do you get a month on your main site? Over a million.
I'm going to manage an affiliate program soon. Do you know of any good books with email templates? I'm looking for ideas for contacting potential affiliates. Any information on managing affiliates would be great. I'm in NV also. I don't read any books. Too short of an attention span. When you contact potential affiliates, make sure that you are offering them value and have a customized email. I get emails for affiliate programs all the time and just ignore them because they are either recycled letters or don't fit my site at all.
NV rocks for business!
I've been interested in creating a site about something I am interested in. The only problem is that since I am interested in it, I've found many online resources that pretty much suffice. Is it worth making an online resource (for say, a hobby/sport) when there might already be some decent but not prevalent info out there? Definitely, especially if you can do it better than the other sites. There are 10 google positions on the first page, so even if you have competition, you can still nudge your way in. Also, there are billions of search terms that people use to find different stuff...
Hopefully I didn't get here too late. I could put about $3000 towards a site. How much traffic do you think an average $3000 site would generate and how much would you expect to make monthly doing the things you've suggested in this thread? If you bought a quality site for $3000, you could probably be looking at a starting cash flow of ~$100 a month. You could probably increase it, but there are too many variables so it really depends on what you buy.
What about if you made a domain that was the same as another other than the extension? Ie. "startknitting.com" exists but sucks balls and is out of date. Would "startknitting.org/net" still be a good idea? You'd probably run into some legality issues there. I'd start with a different name and then try to blow them out of the water. Will take time though.
All right, I'll bite. I'm a graphic/web designer with far more coding experience than I'd like, and in that same vein I've ended up spending a good chunk of my time on SEO/staring at traffic graphics. How easy would it be for me to buy a site, flip it, and start earning money? Given that you already have the skills, pretty good. My strategy was never to buy/flip. It was always to buy/hold, but eventually I decided to change that strategy to just holding onto one site.
Is there any particular industry I should be looking at for this venture? Or is it just "pick whichever site looks promising?" This wouldn't be something I'd want to focus on full-time, but I'm a freelance designer so I would be able to allot hours to work on it between projects as needed. What does typical maintenance work look like for you? Pick something that looks promising, and also something that interests you at least somewhat.
What do you have to learn in order to start out doing this. Like, which books, websites should one read/study? I just jumped in head first. Learned along the way.
I never read books. Just figure stuff out as you go along - Googling things works best.
Could you explain what affiliate links are? For example, a link to a product on amazon with my Affiliate ID on it. If you click it, and then buy that product, I get a commission.
Could you please draw and post an image of how you have your google ads placed around / inside the content. Also, what link color schemes do you find works best? Color schemes that match the site are best. I typically put my adsense units in the top left, above or in the middle of the content.
I have an established (10 years) useful user-generated content site that gets ok traffic (1500 uniques a day) but only generates 800-1000 a month between AdSense and TextLinkAds. I've had no luck whatsoever with Affiliate programs, very few clicks and no sales at all, with thousands of views. Any advice to increase my earnings? Take a look at the FAQ. I don't give personalized advice. I've already answered questions like this all throughout the thread.
Are you, by chance, a local mom? Hahaha, nope. I see those scammy biz opp ads all the time too. Freaking gives making money on the internet a bad name.
Can you give an estimated "$/pageview" on some of the sites you've had ? :) All over the board. Sometimes a fraction of a cent, sometimes 10 cents.
Do you need to live in NV to have an S-Corp in NV? You should be a resident or else it might look suspicious.
Wait, isn't it against the Adsense TOS to say how much you've made? Already answered this a dozen times.
Do you actually make/work on/improve sites you own (other than your blog) to make money or just buy sites that are already making money? Yes, I work on my own site.
Spare change? Can you do a dance for me?
How do you actually make money though? Sorry i just wasn't sure by what you wrote on your blog/ Google "Adsense"
Are you a single mom that earns $5,000 a day from Google? Stay at home mom.
So every once in a while someone comes along and says "hurr durr guys I make X thousand dollars / month off ads". "Invest Y thousand dollars and get 50% return within months!" How full of shit is this on a scale of bullshit to horseshit? I don't see where I said anything about investing...
I didn't say you did. I'm not sure I understand what you are asking then.
Other than buying a site, are there other significant costs involved in getting started right away? Time!
How do you get a website to the top of the google results? SEO.
Can I get my friend to write me a script or code for this? Not sure if troll Or just extremely lazy.
Would I be able to sell my site, DominateDominion.com for anything? Getting tired of the game. It has a sponsorship from the creators of the game for weekly tournament prizes if that increases the value. Check the FAQ. I don't offer personalized advice. You could try listing it on Flippa.
Alright, well are the sites that claim to value it accurate at all? Hit or miss. Sometimes they get lucky and happen to be correct, but otherwise are pretty outlandish.
These are almost as bad as the "what you need, when you need it" spam sites. Thanks for polluting the Internet with your shitty web sites. That is not at all what I do. I actually run a very helpful online community. My success is partly attributed to the fact that my site is extremely helpful for people.
You may be able to fool some people with that description, but it's a load of crap. These sites are, in your own words, "hands-off" and "auto-pilot". I'm willing to bet the content of most of those sites have changed very little, if at all, over the years. How does that make it low content?
Have you ever thought of of shoring yourself and your employees to increase profit, there is some great talent out there in parts of the world where the average wage is significantly lower than the US. I've used some overseas contractors with limited success. I do business primarily in the US, so going overseas would just complicate things in terms of taxes.
He got downvoted because he's a parasite. It is SEO at its basest, simply there to make ad revenue. Microsites provide nothing of value. I don't have any microsites. Thanks though.
Um, you might want to watch out. It's against the TOS to post your adsense earnings, and with those exact figures it's fairly easy for them to trace it back to you.. Last thing you'd want is your adsense account blocked because of this :) Do some more research. You can't post more details like the click-through rates, etc. It is perfectly fine to share your total earning dollar amounts.
As a 14 year old, AdSense is also my main source of income. I'm pretty sure they don't want us to disclose how much we make, but it's great that someone my age can make money on the internet. I get it through YouTube, personally, but it still pays with AdSense. Nice man! Its great to see kids doing something productive! Don't let it get to your head though. Stay in school. Enjoy your young age.
I don't mean to be a party pooper, but 3 friends of mine were making $20-30k/mo on adsense per month, one day Google changed their rules and they are now ruined. Just be prepared, don't count on this success for life, and save money. Thanks, but Adsense only accounts for about 20% of my income. I'm also not doing anything sketchy or against the rules, so I'm not too worried about it.
Looks good man. I was making $2k a month up until 2 months ago when my adsense got banned. Some guys who I had a bad business deal with decided to sit there for hours and click my ads over and over. This turned into google thinking that I was cheating the system and banning me :( Sucks! Try signing up again under a different EIN.
How do you build sites with user generated content. Perhaps give us an example, real or made up. The tools you liked are good for proving and tweaking, but making something that generates its own content seems difficult, and key to the process. Reddit.com....
I'm currently making ~$400 in a small niche where I have the #1 position. Any advice on scaling (general advice) in an attempt to get rich like a playyaaaaaaaaa. Rank #1 for more keywords! Go broader.
Congrats srnc! I'm very pleased for you. I wish I was pulling in that kind of revenue. I have a site that does about $10 a day with a .23 click rate. If I could get that up to 5% I'd (theoretically) be doing $200 a day. But I've tried everything and it's just not an Adsense type of site I guess.. The only advice I have is to move your adsense unit around, try different sizes and different colors.
Man, I have tried everything, including compete site redesign. This is a site I developed myself, so changing look and feel isn't easy.... I just don't think it's an Adsense site.... Might not be. Try some CPA offers or affiliate promotions?
I think you broke Google's Terms of Service by telling us all this. Nope. Look more closely. You can't share some of the finer details... clicks, impressions, CTR, CPM, etc.
In before the next dot-com bubble bursts. Hurry! Why do you think I'm selling everything?
there was spam, now there is googleadsense, and a labyrinthine expanse of well-indexed garbage websites that clutter the google results. Using google now is like wading through a septic tank filled with liquid waste and floating shit so that parasites like 'srnc' can have their little payday. Not at all true. My main site is an authority site because it has been providing quality content to visitors for years.
'Quality content' produced by others, for you to exploit and parasitize. Someone is a little jealous!
Is reddit exploiting and parasitizing the content you create for them?
Sorry mate, you've already described your modus operandi in how you acquire these websites and set them up as cashcows/google clutter. There is no real contribution that you make, or any added value to be found in your net activities. You're basically the equivalent of a spam-sheister. Again, jealousy/ignorance coming through. You have no idea what I do and are just upset that I make more than you do.
Money for nothin' and chicks for free. False on both counts.
Nice try, google ad. = . = I can't imagine that Google is trying to spam Reddit...
I make you zero money by blocking ads. Ask me how! Oh fuck you, just use adblock plus. Thanks. Glad that not many people have that. However my affiliate links which make the bulk of my money are never blocked by your addon! Muhuhahahaha.
Commenting to come back later cause im stuck at work, and want to learn how to make 5 grand a month doing this shit. Cool. Be sure to read through this thread. Already answered a LOT of questions.
Keep working at it. Join us at the 4-5 figure daily profit club. It's pretty damn nice. Think more affiliate related stuff for expansion. Thanks man! I want to hit 1M/year soon.
Could you go into more detail concerning the SEO work. This seems like the most important and time consuming aspect of making a website get the traffic it needs. I just do basic SEO stuff with my main site. Keywords in the title, fresh content linked to from the home page, etc.
